ADS ON OGA: Suggestions
Howdy,
Now that we have ads here I think I can guess why. You need more money to run this and I can't blame you. But an idea. What about an advertise length system with one day advertisements for free. Since they are reviewed first it would be easy to make sure no one repeats an ad every day for free. People would try it out, get addicted to seeing their stuff there and extra attention and buy a longer period.
Another idea. Have the ability to:
Report spam ads or ads with racial/sexual/disagreeable content that the team may not have caught.
To disable the viewing of a particular ad.
These are just ideas.
Cheers,
Hero
With regard to spam ads:
I'm only running ads I've personally reviewed, and all ads are going to be hosted here on OGA, which means that they won't slip through the way they do with big advertising companies.
Yes, but things may be offending to a large group that is not to you and that you don't no about. Just an easy report system like for comments and art.
And I'm not criticizing your ability. I'm just saying that things may slip through.

That seems like a very narrow potential category of things. If such an occasion were to arise, I think you could just contact Bart directly.
How do you contact Bart? People may not realise that Bart is the ringleader of OGA and that to contact him you must go to his user page. And one may not realise that the forums can be used for discussion of the ads. I didn't realise for a pretty long time how this all worked. A simple Contact button on the bar where Home is would be good. But I still think that a "Report This Ad" button would be good.

I'm not going to have a "report this ad" button because I'm not going to be running anything objectionable, or that I don't know about.
As such, I think most clicks would be more along the lines of "I don't like ads," which isn't really useful information.
If you want to not see a particular ad, you can always adblock it or what have you. Unless, of course, that ad is for Angry Turtle, in which case clicking the link and purchasing several items will resolve the issue.
Okay, and my first idea?
