Artifacts in gif transparency

Hi OpenGameArt,
I have an issue when saving animated gifs on your site. It produces colours where it should be transparent. Check out my avatar, everything outside the circle should be transparent. They all work everywhere else except opengameart

You are right. It appears to affect avatars and submission thumbs. Preview images and downloads seem to be working. You might fix your avatar by uploading it as a png image

I wonder if they are related
same problem with the png, I replaced the avatar with a png
2016... ? ... i just upload an animated chest in 4 frames with a .gif for a preview, for some reason the preview thumb has set the black as transparent on top of the alraedy transparent px, when i click it it show the right image but the thumbnail looks completely screwed, fyi, if anyone still following this
