OMG!
What's the point of packaging up stylistically inconsistent assets that are already on the site?
If you want to make a collection of stuff on the site then there is the collection feature for that.
It serves to not look much in the vastness of OGA and choose more easily the sprites that are required
@rrrexky I can see why you have done it, I get it, and I think you ment well by doing this to help searching more easier. But personally I'd rather someone searching for sprites be able to find my portfolio with all my work and go through that as well once they find what they are looking for. Having something like this kinda would eliminate that I think.
I agree. Everything has advantages and disadvantages.
In any case, my idea is to improve the spritesheets and for example, in the case of trees, place each tree in multiple sizes (16x16, 32x32, ...) and also generate the versions of fall, spring, winter (changing HUE ) and if possible, some trees in the style of others (changing the color palette)
Cool, glad you understand what I'm saying, and it's good you are going try and improve the sheets for their usage. When it comes to colour changes though, I would say this. I also made changes to asset sheets, colour changes and what not, and it was a lot of tedious work I thought, only to come to realise that colour changes, and hue changes are pretty much done by the developers coding their games, using shaders or uploading and using their own colour palettes, so I didn't see the point in doing it anymore. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but thought you would appreciate knowing that as it could save you a lot of time. :) perhaps someone can comment on that and tell me otherwise. :)
That is good to know. My option requires less CPU usage.
And do not worry that it is not something that will do sprite by sprite. I will do it automatically, with python code.
Whoa... Just... whoa....
Can you at least put them as separate sprites? These huge sheets can easily kill slower PCs. Not everyone here have latest macbooks. My laptop has just 2 GB RAM, most of which is occupied by Windows 10, and such sheet is too much for it.
I can open fine. But I am not sure about how they are sorted. Also they can be separated into shadow, trunk and leaves to save space (and probably time)
It is a good idea. It was working on it since a few days
Hi.
