Before you read on, take a minute to listen to the sound and see if it reminds you of something.

Ok times up. If you thought about Spyro 2 homeworld music then you are correct! The story behind this sound is a mouth full, but I want to make it clear that this sound is 100% made with ZynAddSubFX and Audacity.

Spyro 2 homeworld music is basically just sounds/pads from the Distorted Reality 2 sample pack with minimal editing. Because of this, there aren't many sounds outside of that sample pack that sound similar. The way I made this sound is by creating a ZynAddSubFX preset combiner which allows you to take preset files and it mixes up the settings of those into a new preset. The idea is you give it presets that are similar to what you would like the outcome to be and have it randomly mix them multiple times into preset files. You listen to those and pick the ones that sound good.

This sound was one of the very first things my preset randomizer ever made and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was literally hoping for something Spyro related and got what I wanted. I edited the sound in audacity to try and make it a seamless loop. It's as goos as I can make it.
