Comments
If you cannot be certain of the origin or license status of any sample herein, then this soundfont cannot be shared under an open license like this. I must mark this as having a licensing issue for now. Please let me know if you have questions or clarifications.
Oh, well this project has its own license. It says:
** License of the complete work **
You may use GeneralUser GS without restriction for your own music creation, private or commercial. This SoundFont bank is provided to the community free of charge. Please feel free to use it in your software projects, and to modify the SoundFont bank or its packaging to suit your needs.
So I thought it met the same requirements as CC0, doesn't it?
The license can be found in the zip file
I'm aware of the LICENSE.txt in the zip file. That is the reason for my concern, actually:
Unfortunately, "No one has gotten into trouble before" is not an adequate defense for assets with uncertain origins.
Unless a resolution to the licensing uncertainly is forthcoming, I must remove this submission soon.
