Lovely design for an RPG
Wow. Love the colors on that one.
Wish I lived in a house like that. :-)
Thanks for your feedback =) its motivating and means a lot ;)
Pretty bad colours for an RPG actually, the colours are dull and bland, it strikes me as more useful for a flashback or horror game.
I wouldn't mind the colour scheme on a gothic medieval tileset though or a sci-fi tileset.
Thanks for the opinion Kemono =) It's good to also hear some critique once in a while.
To me RPG is simply a gameplay genre without clear dictation of visual or narrative style. If you say it fits better with flashback or horror games than rpgs, I would like to state that this is not mutually exclusive.
There are a lot of horror rpgs out there that go with this kind of style. But you are right the color scheme is of course not your classical "zelda" or "j-rpg" type of colorful that normally comes with those topdown tilesets.
But than again... Why always do things like they already have been done?
I wanted it to have a sunlit/colorfaded/dusty/wood feeling. A hint of realism within the abstract. Kind of like they do within the classic Suikoden games by throwing anime inspired characters on more realistic environments. Only here I used realistic colors with unrealistic forms.
I hope that clearifys things a little more.
Thanks again for your input!
> the colours are dull and bland
Not really. It's like a coffee house, good library, chocolate shop or an upscale home. Wouldn't really work for most ideas of gothic medieval or sci-fi settings. You'd want something more industrial, metallic or etc. for that, unless it's meant to be calming.
Just my opinion anyway.
But, hey, different strokes for different folks.
BEAUTIFUL
These are great!
