This is a set of 40 images you can use in an RPG or fantasy setting game to indicate different kinds of locations, terrain, or biomes.

Each individual image was designed to fit portrait HD resolution (1080x384 px). The images come in two forms. The default "blurry" form where I used GIMP's waterpixels filter more heavily, and the finer detail "sharp" form where I used the same filter, but to a much lesser extent.

It probably took me at least 30 hours to find, process, and put together all the images here. After going through so much work, I figured I'd let others benefit from all the effort as well. I hope this saves a few people some time and effort and lets you get down to making the more fun parts of your projects. :)

Every source image I used was licensed under creative commons or public domain, so this can be used commercially. Attribution for each of the original 40+ images can be found here or as one of the attached files.
