32x32 pixel icons using DawnBringer's 16 color palette.
Made for Heroine Dusk.
Includes:
- A single coin
- Stack of 2 coins
- Stack of 4 coins
- Stacks of 8 coins
- Stacks of 16 coins
- Gold chalice
- Three gold ingots/bars
- Gold treasure chest
- Gold crown
- Gold sword sticking out of a gold pile
I made these to represent an increasing amount of gold value. From 1 coin, to 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, and 512 gold value. My idea for Heroine Dusk is to show the correct number of coins (or total value) when you loot gold. By checking the bits of the total gold amount, I can display a unique treasure pile per amount. E.g. 35 gold would be displayed as a chalice (32 gold), a stack of 2 gold, and the single coin.
They can also be used as isometric loot appearing on maps or as inventory icons.

@Clint-
Great work, beautifully done!
thank you it's wow
I'm using this in my game Metal Detector
Beautiful!
@Client, Are these done in blender then cleaned up in gimp?
@mcco0055 This is plain pixel art done in GIMP
A while back I wrote an article that uses these treasure icons. Maybe some of you who are crossover coder-artists will find this interesting!

@Clint, thanks for the link. I totally missed that article. I'd have to do these in 3d, seems less work then trying to do is pixel-push. I bow to the masters of pixel art.
I can sit here all night playing with the coin render, oh shiny! I very nice rig for testing, just bad since you can play with it all the time and not be productive. I was like that when I was verifying my cave generator.
Gives me an itch to code something really hacky and low-level in c. Simulate smaug's horde maybe. Power of 2! Power of 2! Oh how I love you, power of 2!
Nice !!
Hello! I made a smaller 16x16 pixel version of this: http://opengameart.org/content/gold-treasure-icons-16x16 :)
Ello, wanted to say that you did a great job with your pixel art, cross code, and Heroine Dusk as a start.
I was also wanting to know if I could use these when I start to make a game. I have little skill as an artist, and it would take me too long to come out with something passable.
I will try to use work from a few different artists for my first game, and try to keep the art close to each other in style aspects. lower res art might be able to form background images for e.
I will look through your other pieces as well and comment if I like them and ask then for the use of them.
The game will be a "in the making" for a while due to my circumstances.
I will make a special place in the credits for all the pixel artists, a special credits for backers, and a regular credits to list afterwards. I like the thought of making the credits interactive.
@Clint Bellanger
Thanks you very much.
I use your arts in my game.

Sorry I am not good at English.
Hey I used some of your art in my Game, thank you very much!
Coin Collector Game
Nice palette! I enjoy the crispy edges in this one
Awesome! I'm going to remix these for a "treasure hunt" game in my upcoming book, Learn to Code in 30 Days!
