These are pretty good! Thanks!
That doesn't really work with the license. The whole point of the site is to say "there are no risks when using these assets". Would you be willing to remove the parts that are not 100% CC-BY-SA? Until then I have to mark this as having a licensing issue since some of it may be a licensing risk for people.
>Would you be willing to remove the parts that are not 100% CC-BY-SA?
As I understand, this part does not not conflict with CC-BY-SA, the design of that single item was not protected in some way.
Anyway, removed.
Thansk for your sharing, whole icon and image so good :)
Great! what do WoX and TGE stand for?
>WoX and TGE stand for?
WoX2 (not original WoX) has died due to loosing lead-programmer in 2012. To be onestly, it was thae last one. You can still find some trailers of WoX2 at youtube and even uncompleted demo.
I've made these items for the project ans some low-poly mobs. I can share them too, but they mostly have low quality: project died before reworking.
TGE was a much simplier projecy written with love2d and lua. I've tried to make a team, but that was a really hard task to find artists and writers for it. I've started TGE like a programmer.
I can't find them on youtube. What does WoX and TGE stand for? They seem very interesting even if they are dead projects.

Cool. So are WoX and TGE acronyms?
I love this item set. How were they made? prerender or something?
>Cool. So are WoX and TGE acronyms?
WoX means World of Xeen. WoX2 was the temporary name of the project, but we planned use Vori island (planet Enroth) as the place of the action.
TGE means «The Great Experiment». The name from Might and Magic universe too, but I planned to use own universe in the same style.
>I love this item set. How were they made? prerender or something?
Modelled and rendered with Blender.
cool. That makes sense; I could see the 3DO inspiration in those videos. Any chance you have the .blend files as well?
Were any of the graphics borrowed from the original xeen or might and magic games?
>Any chance you have the .blend files as well? blend files of what? Items? Do not think they can be useful to anyone, way look much worse than rendered pictures. But yes, I have them. Also I have low-poly mobs, can share them to during the week. I hope their quality will be enough for using tham gor statues, for example. To be honestly they are already shared at github, but I have no time for making screenshots and reaploding them to this site. If someone wants to help me with it, you are welcome. UP: Mobs shared at another collection.
Hmm, somthing strage, getting error 500 while saving comments.
UP: Got this! This site do not like some unicode symbols.
>Were any of the graphics borrowed from the original xeen or might and magic games?
From original Xeen of course not. It's DOS game firstly. The second reason is the other planet.
From Might and Magic VI - VIII. Well, all items were modelled by me, but you can find some items, looking close to items from that games.
yeah, that is a known issue with extended unicode symbols. Glad you got it figured out.
Why wouldn't the .blend files be useful?! If these Prerenders came from them, they're useful, I assure you. :D I would be willing to help out with that if you'd like. Point me to the github!
Being inspired by M&M is fine. Deriving from M&M assets is legal trouble. I believe Ubisoft inherited their trademarks and copyrights, and they aren't known to be forgiving with infringements.
Sounds like they're in the clear if you modeled them all yourself and were only inspired by the 3DO games. :)
>Point me to the github!
I've published mobs already. As for the items: this could take some time to sort blend files for them. So, may be later. But I repeat quality of their blend files is not good enough. But of cource bottles, some parts of swords can be used somehow.
>Being inspired by M&M is fine. Deriving from M&M assets is legal trouble.
And where is the border between inspired and deriving? You can search for files with M&M items yourself and if you`ll find something wrong, you can contact me or administration of this site.
>Sounds like they're in the clear if you modeled them all yourself and were only inspired by the 3DO games. :)
Modelled by me. Some inspired. But as it was said before: where is the border? If someone has enough experience and special knowledges in these question, that'll be interestiong to read his or her opinion here.
>where is the border?
Yes, that border is somewhat nebulous, so these things have to be weighed on a case by case basis. As a general rule, if you ripped an image from the game, then changed some things like color or pixels, that would be derivation: not ok. If you looked at the images in the game and said "I like that. I'll make my own version" then modeled them on your own without using the ripped assets to trace or modify, that is inspiration: all good.
>You can search for files with M&M items yourself and if you`ll find something wrong, you can contact me or administration of this site.
Thank you, I'll check for anything that might be touble, but so far I don't see any issues. I would appreciate you telling me if any of it might fall into the derivation category as outlined above, though. Just to speed things along. I don't want developers to get in trouble later if they happen to use this before I've found something that might result in a Case and Desist from Ubisoft.
As for Site Administration, that would be me. :)
Thanks for your quick responses and generous contributions.
>if you ripped an image from the game
I do not rip images from games. Even if I need one, I model it myself. So there is no danger from this side.
Anyway, artists of 3DO were much more professional than I am.
Some of my models (about 5 may be) were made in the style of M&M's rpgs and looks similar. Well, thay were made for fan-project in 3DO's M&M universe. So, do not know if this is a problem, or not.
Most of them were made with the refs from real life.

Well, may be this can help:

As for the blend file. I do not know, when I'll share all, but you can tell me if you need someone earlier.
>made for fan-project in 3DO's M&M universe. So, do not know if this is a problem, or not.
The fan-project itself might be legally murky, but not the assets themselves. As long as you made them, they're fine.
>Well, may be this can help:
Heh! That's pretty cool. Yeah, some things in that fan project could be trouble (namely, the name; things like "Might & Magic" & "Enroth" themselves are trademarked, I think) but I'm not going to police other projects, just the assets that end up here on OGA. :)
>As for the blend file. I do not know, when I'll share all, but you can tell me if you need someone earlier.
Nope. no rush. It was really just a hopeful request, not a demand or anything. They're your assets and you don't have to do anything with them you don't want to, so I'm not about to start getting impatient with the things you're donating freely. I was just offering to help out if it makes it more likely for you to provide them. :)
>Yeah, some things in that fan project could be trouble (namely, the name; things like "Might & Magic" & "Enroth" themselves are trademarked, I think)
Galleries at mm6world shows original items from 3DO's games.
As for the trademarks, yes, great game series killed with no hopes.
Thanks AlexYeCu this is really a nice collection of assets
