No worries qubodup. I improved (for my taste anyway) the highlights by using Color Levels in the gimp, for example for green crystal bump down the red and blue channels. And I will use them in my LPC game, probably as treasure bonuses.
Yeah I agree that posting updates could be time better spent actually working on the game.
However I might start a thread when my game is a bit further along (you know, when it actually resembles a game). Would be good if someone started a general purpose thread for updates (like there was for the artwork phase).
I picked 800x600 right at the start, and I'm sticking to that. It would be too much work to change it now (and much more to support multiple resolutions). Hopefully the resolution won't matter for the judging of the games.
The girl looks great, I'd love to use her as a player character, however I'm stuck with GIMP 2.6 and cannot read these XCF files -- would you be able to post her tilesheets as png?
I'm toying with an engine based on Quake (the SDL port), which is under the GPLv2+ license. Shoehorning some 2D support is going to be interesting, though I'm not sure if I'll end up with anything worthwhile by the end of the competition.

Anyone else not thought of a name for their game yet?
Yes, very glad to see another monster sprite!
Cheers Stephen, for this and other artwork which I'm using in my game. They are really high quality stuff.

it is a problem with this site adding the '_'
nice!
heh, at first I thought the package was missing the red crystals, but they are called orange.
P.S. didn't look as good in-game as i'd though, I think the white highlights are too strong.

I think Uranus has lots of comic potential.
Glad you didn't call this the Terraforming Uranus Resource Document though :p
