Do I just do a search for the tag "My Summer Time Thing" or "Challenge" to find all the (correctly tagged) submissions? What about old challenges? Won't they be tagged as "Challenge" as well?
@DietChocolate: I am not Kimmo Rundelin. He does artwork for Stendhal. He doesn't put his works here on OGA, but he lets me do it for him. In his works he has the note "Copyright <year> Kimmo Rundelin" (which is what I put in the Copyright/Attribution Notice section). So I would recommend putting that in your credits. Or something like "Death/Reaper by Kimmo Rundelin" or "Death/Reaper by Kimmo Rundelin (CC BY-SA)". But if you want to contact him directly & ask if just putting "Kimmo Rundelin" is okay, he is often available in the Arianne IRC chat room. He goes by the nickname "kiheru".
Edit: Had to edit this. Wasn't paying attention & thought this was under the dragons submission (also by Kimmo Rundelin).
The Openclipart Library (OCAL) is a great source for icons. Everything there is licensed under CC0. Unfortunately the site is down at the moment & has been for a few weeks due to a DDOS attack. But just about everything hosted there can be found on clker or wpclipart. I believe everything on wpclipart is CC0/Public Domain. On clker, if it says "SHARED BY: OCAL" then it is from the Openclipart Library & licensed under CC0. I'm not sure about the licensing of everything else on clker, it might be CC0 as well.
Edit: You will likely have to animate the icons yourself, but that's not too hard. Here are searches for "alert" on those sites:
GIMP & Krita are two very good free image editing software. I use GIMP all the time, but I want to get familiar with Krita. Supposedly it's built specifically for pixel art.
Very nice. But, shouldn't this be under "Music", not "Document"?
Agree, water challenge sounds fun. :)
Please do another challenge soon after this one gets over... pleeeeeeaaaaase. <3
Okay, I've got the search thing figured out. And if previous challenges used the same tags, I can sort the results by date.

Here is an example I made from this warning sign (CC0 if you want to use). Animated & exported to Gif with GIMP:
