[LPC] Jump! (expanded)
An expanded LPC Jump base, based off of Durrani's LPC Male Jumping Animation. Included: - Male jump - Muscular male jump - Female jump - Teen / unisex jump - Pregnant female jump - Animated hair (9 styles) - Pants for all bases - Shoes for all bases - Long sleeved shirts for male, female, teen, and pregnant jump - Scoop necked shirts for female, teen, and pregnant jump - All bases come in 9 skin tones: 5 natural, 4 unnatural. - All clothes come in 20 colors. - All hair pieces come in 10 colors. Note on use: animating a jump is best done by phase of the jump, and in my opinion looks best when the second frame (with the bent knees) is added to the end on recovery. An example animated jump has been added. ADDED: - Child jump base (1 color) - Pants, shirt, and shoes for child jump (1 color each) (Special thanks to BenCreating for spearheading this base!)
Comments
This is a pretty neat addition!
I ran into an issue with it, however: it seems that the alignment of the different clothing items doesn't match up with the male spritesheet? See the attached image.
Also: did the position of some of the frames changes compared to the original? I replaced the base I had for my character with yours, and some of the assets I had adopted for it (mainly eyes and one set of hair) shifted out of alignment. Just moving things around fixed it, but I'm curious.
I can extract and upload the eyes later (I gave my character brown eyes rather than blue eyes).
For my character, I need to also fit on the tunic. I'll post that here when I get around to it.
@Evert--
So, the original Jump animation by Durrani wasn't lined up to a 64x64 grid. BenCreating posted a fixed version a year and a half ago, which this almost matches, but my fourth frame is raised 3px.
That said, I just tested the Adult Male graphics in that attachment, and they're not misaligned. It looks like you've removed the first frame from your jump base, but not your clothes? It should be five frames long, not four.
Actually, I had just cropped the image to the part that showed the apparent issue best. The first frame is there in the sprite sheet. :)
That said: you're right, I hadn't noticed the clothes were offset by 64 pixels compared to the base!
There are a few missing pixels and an issue with the shirt matching up to the waistline. I don't have time to fix those myself now, but I can do that later this week if you prefer.
And just in case I wasn't explicit enough before: it's awesome you've done this! It makes it a much more usable resource.
Hmm. I'm not sure what you're looking at, to be honest.
This is from opening the files in my editor straight from the attachment-- no edits, and Krita auto-places layers aligned to their size. The pants in yours may be 1px too low?
Ah, geez. I guess it's one of those days.
I use the Gimp and apparently I'd forgotten to tick "align to grid" when putting in the trouser layer, and they were indeed off by a pixel.
Sorry for all the confusion, it's all fitting together fine. Thanks for thinking along!
Woooow amazing.. also very nice new hairstyles! Did you also adapt those already to the base sheet by any chance?:)
... ... You know, I totally forgot I hadn't released the new hair I'd been working on for the other animations.
I should probably go do that. :D
That would make my week before it even started haha
Okay-- I took a look at my files. Good news and bad news on this one.
The good news is that I've got all the files from when I made them, a year and a half ago. The new hair styles are the buzzcut, the long curly, the short curly, and the short part. I also have a balding style, and some updates on existing hair.
The bad news is that they've only been animated for the female and teen/unisex bases, and I haven't given them the standard ten color variants. So they're not officially 'done', and I'm not sure I want to put them out like that.
This is awesome! Nice work!
Eliza, I can probably help with the hair---we can use JaidynReiman's scripts to do the positioning to the male base and the recoloring.
I can also add the positions for this base to the scripts, so we can adapt the other hairstyles.
That'd be awesome, BlueCarrot! Thank you!!!
This looks like it might be fantastic. Unfortunately I cant get the archive to unzip properly. 7-Zip gives a series of error messages on extraction ('unsupported compression method') and all the extracted files are 0 byte .PNGs and won't open with any program (e.g. paint or irfanview)
That's no good!
Try this-- it's a .zip file instead: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MVlAS8-ZQzQweS4uWSUBZxxlwB92rpWB/view?u...
Wow that was a quick response! Thanks, they extract perfectly now. And as I suspected they are indeed fantastic! Loving the new hairstyles as well. Gonna add them to my LPC character generator ASAP.
Jump! has been edited to add a child's jump, with a set of child's clothes! Thanks to BenCreating for making the base for this one.
Thanks Eliza, I enjoyed working on these with you.
Evert, one other difference to note between these and Durrani's original is that we removed a slight head tilt in the side-view frames, and I think we also adjusted the eye position in the front-view to match the death/hurt animation.
Hello and thank you for your effort. I am a very new user of LPC.
I apologize for my ignorance. I use Universal LPC Spritesheet locally, and I don't know how to implement this jump in the project.
A little help would be useful. Thank you.
Unfortunately there isn't a way to implement these extra animations.
Most clothing sets for LPC only have the base animations, and ones like these haven't been included yet.
thank you for your quick reply!
