Hmm, I actually see lots of artifacts in the one color background, and I don't think it's much better. For some reason I even see horizontal stripes in the image here on OGA, but not on Flickr.
I'd really like to hear how good or bad the dwarf performs in-game. By the way why do you limit yourself to 1500 polys? Average PCs nowadays can display hundreds of thousands of polys without big problems. Especially for main characters, which are visible on the screen most of the time ;) , a few more polys would be nice.

Does anyone else think the industry wants to kill FOSS engines? o_O I know a project that switched from OGRE to the Unreal 3 engine when they released it for free, and I guess there were probably more. I heard even the new CryEngine will be free of charge for non-commercial projects, or is it already, or was it one of the old engines? I'm well informed. :) At least id Software's old engines are really free.
Hey, cool stuff as always. :) Where do you get your source images for these textures?

FYI the word "droid" is a registered trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd. It looks nice, but you should give it another name.
Do you know the game Battletech? They called it Battledroids first and then got problems with Lucasfilm.

I just heard about Wang tiles which could help you to get rid of repetitive ground textures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wang_tile
Please put this dwarf into your game as a main character ASAP: http://opengameart.org/content/dwarf-fixed
Ah, finally good lighting! I'd love to see him as a main character in Summoning Wars. http://www.sumwars.org/
The poor, little dwarf ... got no penis. :) Isn't it funny that all game characters are eunuchs?

Cool, may I know the name of the game? :)
No problem. You just have to know that games convert all faces to triangles.
Hey pfunked what do you mean with exposed wiring?
Nice model, but the poly count is 11k not 5k. The model isn't triangulated.
Edit: Never mind, I misunderstood you pfunked. If you take out the wiring and bake it on a plane, you can save almost 5000 polygons.
