Sounds to me like it's an issue with being able to shoot through a door where you shouldn't, rather than an inherent breaking in the teleport spell. Though I'm sure Clint will know better.
first off, thanks for asking. While I haven't yet fully decided how to handle these sprites, I do have another graphics source released today -- with all of the images being the public domain, for commercial usage: http://growaface.com To explain, Grow a Face lets you select face drawings, and based on your selection, mutates the drawing. This goes on for several steps creating -- out of infinite possibilities -- fully new faces. These in turn may be even useful for games.
Perhaps this is something worth sharing on OpenGameArt?
cheers Philipp"
Anyway, that thing he linked to is pretty neat, so there is that.
This looks kind of interesting, but I don't really want to spend time learning to reformat my sprites for them to be put into it. Are you interested in just getting sprite sheets that can be used, or are you hoping for the whole thing, formatting and all?
(Note that this is the exact why I never independently release my work under -By-SA, though I do understand why people would value copyleft enough to deal with the hassle)
On an unrelated note, I do love the skins, and they definitely stand above a standard hue-shift in quality.
Yeah, I'm not saying it's not something worth doing--this sort of project can be a lot of fun and build up good skills. I just want to warn you that you're less likely to get people here interested in jumping in for the above reasons.
They might not hunt you down, but you'll also never have meaningful ownership of your work, no matter how much time and effort you put into it. One consequence is, of course, that the resulting work can never be truly 'open' either, as it doesn't qualify for any open license. People here generally just aren't too interested in doing that.

For your needs, I would recommend sticking to CC-By licensed assets. Though it's a shame you can't use this asset for that reason.
Hello,
I got a response from him:

On the plus side, you can still take advantage of the graphics generated for the contest. So there's that.

By the way, I do really like the look of that armor. Great work!
Please! I have been hoping for something like this. Not that I've brought it up before or anything... xD
