I prefer ARPGs where you have some "safe point" or "save point", you know, like you have in original Flare. Where you don't have to start from the very beginning if you die. And I like opponents which aren't too tough. You could implement this by providing different difficulty levels from which the player chooses one at the game start.
Isn't it the best to take your own preferences and make a game that fits them? Because YOU (as an ARPG player) are the expert on what makes an ARPG great. (That's just a thought by me about this...)
I think it is definitively NOT a silly idea to create a picture collection of items, windows, wood surfaces etc.
But I don't understand your question very well. Can you elaborate on what you are going to try?
For example: Which objects and wherefrom do you want to collect? And have you looked into databases (like this site here) already? And what purpose (for games? for your games? for videos?)
The airplane level is a funny idea and looks good in my opinion.
I never used a ZX Spectrum so that level looks just odd to me. But I would say keep it that way because there will be players who have a nostalgic feeling :) (as I would have with C64 and Amiga).
It's much better. And I won the first match I ever played completely. So I guess the AI is probably stupid. But I like to win, so it's precisely right for me.
I can see this game is probably very complex if the AI (or the human opponent) is clever. One has to look both for attack and defense.
Yeah, good point.

It's not exactly my kind of game. But it's cool. I agree that the computer move takes a bit long.

Thanks for sharing.
I followed the link to the file(s) and it looks dubious. In what format is the file? And what should I do with that file?
Do you have a link to your blog?

I only know that Godot can create HTML5 games.
If you like primitive/low-level programming (like I do) you can program with PHP. But you probably don't like that.
