There's actually a plan for something akin to a rating system. From worst to best:
Abandoned
WIP
Finished
Polished
The idea here is that rather than just saying "this is bad", we look at art as an iterative process and give people advice on how to get their art to a finished state. Note that art only gets labeled "Abandoned" if it sits in WIP status for a long time without any work done on it. At that point, other people might be able to take ownership of it and improve on it.
Yeah, it should be a lot easier now, so hopefully we'll have challenges up consistently. It's aactually possible to have more than one going at the same time now, too, which means we can have more specific themes.
Just a heads up to anyone entering. It's no longer necessary to link your art here in comments. Just click the "Enter this challenge" link and select the art you'd like to enter.
Also, challenge votes are now counted separately from favorites. Voting is done on the challenge page in the week following the challenge.
This is the first challenge using this new system, so if you run into any bugs, please leave a comment here.
Also, I'll try to get the bug on the form fixed. I'm doing a bit of an OGA code marathon today (for the first time in quite a while) so hopefully I'll be able to get to it shortly.
Yeah. We'll have to go through the old stuff and rate it. I agree that finding the best art here can be a problem sometimes, even with favorites.

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. :)
Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem.
The initial battle system looks like that because it was easy to code.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your entry.
Since we have official word from the project, it seems like it should be fine to post the assets apart from the ones mentioned.
Awesome!
Prod me on the release day, and I'll write a blog post about it. :)

Glad to see you're still around. :)
